11 May Marc & Romy – The Rand Club
The urban setting of the gorgeous building makes capturing at the The Rand Club a delight, getting married at this venue is like a fairytale.
I enjoyed recording Romy’s story as preparations begun in the morning. While she had her hair and makeup applied, the other girls made us laugh non stop.
Marc could not hide his joy when he saw Romy walking down the aisle in her magnificent dress. Friends and family looked on as Romy and Marc exchanged rings in a wonderful ceremony at St. Georges Anglican Church. It’s moments like this that make my job as a South African wedding photographer so rewarding.
Everyone had a blast at The Rand Club. The guests were chatting happily, as they enjoyed their drinks and music. I liked drifting among the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours went by.
The more Autumn weddings I photograph, the more I enjoy them. Cloudy skies stayed around for most of the day, but clouds create the softest light, which really help with photographs.
The guests were eager to hear what the speakers had to say. It’s a special privilege to be invited to document the speeches as they often contain very personal moments. People were dancing for hours, enjoying the moments as the bride and groom were showing off their best moves.
I knew it was going to be an amazing wedding when Romy and Marc booked me to photograph it and I hope they have a happy life together.
